DI Tests

I had a go, just out of curiosity at recording using the recording compensated output on the back of my Marshall JCM900 Dual Reverb, and then the DI out on my TSL, but the output level goes up and down with the master volume, surely this defeats the object?

If you cant play loud with a mic'd up cab, I thought that was the point of the output to the interface?

Sounds sh*t too, mic'ing up the cab is definatly the way.

Re: DI Tests

well, back in the day.. when i used to record i either mic'd or went through a huuuuuuuge (not mine) rack of effects that were linked by witchcraft or something to the desk.
preferred the mic'd up cab though, crank it up and leave the room....

Re: DI Tests

You should build an Isolation booth if you can. Put that cabinet in a iso booth with a 57 and put it on 10.

Re: DI Tests

I would love to do that, what's the best way to go about that?
