Digitech RPx400 vs Johnson J Station
Alright here is the deal. I just picked up a Johnson J station for myself, but you might know, about 3 days later, I guy I know tells me he is looking to sell his Digitech RPX400 for a very good price ($100 and throwing in a bunch of cables and converters etc.). I dont live near him anymore so I can't just try it out and he isnt as knowledgeable about this stuff as you guys might be if you have tried it since he rarely used it (hence why he is selling it)
I know the Digitech RPx400 is not produced anymore, but that doesnt always mean it was a bad product. However, I do not know much about it. Anyone on here have much experience? I am assuming I could plug my guitar into this with the standard 1/4" cable and run it into the computer via USB it sounds like? How is the sound doing that? Obviously it would be more ideal to run a mic into the pedal and actually mic my guitar cabinet (if that can be done with this which I think it can), but the USB question is for quick and dirty recording while practicing.
Also for a roughup on drums, would I be able to run a condensor mic into this and mic a whole drumset MODERATELY decently? Note: moderately decent for a demo for interband purposes. We record our albums in a full out real studio, all this stuff im looking at is for practice and demo purposes.
I havent messed with the JStation that much yet, but I am slightly disappointed so far :/ I havent been able to get that great of recording sound out of it, but maybe im not doing it right. And also it wouldnt be able to do other instruments like i THINK the digitech could.
