fed up with my soundcard


hi,

i want to get a drum machine but cant afford one, and my sound card drums are nay too realistic .... is there such thing as a drum machine program... you know so i can program in a few time sigs or even write teh whole drum score and let it play..... how realistic are tehy??

I recommend Acid (although it takes a lot of work), Fruity Loops (the best of these three IMHO for drums), or Hammerhead (easiest to use). All three are easily found on http://www.download.com

I'd second the vote for Fruity Loops - great cheap program and there are a ton of free samples available all over the net. Fruity affords a little more flexibility a little easier than Acid in my opinion.

I believe however, that the best sounding and most realistic drums on a computer will require a MIDI sequencer and some soundfonts (I'd highly recommend those from Sonic Implants).
