Good Mixing Headphones

My Dad has recently picked up mixing for church and is looking for a good set of headphones for Fathers Day. Any recommendations within a reasonable price range? Definitely under $100, but preferably less.

Re: Good Mixing Headphones

i use the vic firth sih-1 for my stuff. they kill 24db and have like 37-38mm drivers and sound great. typically you don't really want headphones to mix with in recording, but for live, it's not as big of a deal. you do want closed backs, tho. leakage is often a big problem for false mixes.

Re: Good Mixing Headphones

i think headphones are good for mixing, but you do need to listen at least for a bit without them to see how everything sounds out loud, but head phones are great to hear if something is breaking up cuz u will hear it easier and quicker on phones usually, also you'll pick up some stuff u probably won't be able to notice without them.
