Good recording software

Hey guys,

Me and my drummer wanna record some licks and beats!

I have a macbook the black one, garage band DOES not do it for me.

Any of you guys recommend any good software??

Oh and my setup is a peavey express 112 hooked up to a old crate amp, Plus i got a vox tonelab se, a few pedals (wah, crybaby, distortion etc.) oh and one main pedal a a boss super feedback and distortion(great pedal).

So im looking for something that will record nicely(the software) no fuzziness, feedbacking noise, ect...

logic express does look good i think i may have to pull out the wallet
