Above is a link to an excellent tutorial on recording heavy guitars I found online while researching this stuff about a year ago. It's worth reading for two reasons -- first, because there's a lot of excellent advice, and second, because the guy writes in the manic, hopped-up whirlwind of Hunter S. Thompson on a booze-and-amphetamine-fuelled deadline crunch.
