Guitar Rig 3 Users?

I am curious about the Guitar Rig software. Does anyone have experience with it or impressions you would like to share? I saw the youtube videos and read some user reviews. What do yall think?

I've used the trial and it rocks but I don't know how to use my Lexicon Lambda or Boss Gt-Pro to input my guitar and have my normal pc speakers used as monitors without audio lag >_<

Re: Guitar Rig 3 Users?

I actually use it quite a bit. Running it through USB just sucks. I have a high end computer, so that is not the issue. Every guitar I have sounded exactly the same when I connected via USB. Mahagony, basswood, active, passive, it didn't matter. I bought an EMU 0404 audio card and WOW, what a difference! Different guitars sound differently. For playing at home, it is awesome, and you can get some great tones out of it.

Thanx for the input. I hope I can pick it up this summer. Its a little expensive, but I could really get into it because I won't be in class for three months. If the tone is worth the price I think it would be a great apartment volume solution. No need to crank it. I've recorded a little, mostly just for fun and some jam tracks. Anyway, we'll see.

I've used guitar rig 2 quite a lot, and really liked it. It does make a big difference having a dedicated sound card for recording.

I've been thinking about trying GR3 out. It looks really cool and I work with someone who has it.

That being said, I picked up Line 6 Gearbox Gold for $100 w/guitar interface and it's sound darn good for that price. Heck, it's a steal.

Re: Guitar Rig 3 Users?

I concur with the others liking Guitar Rig 2.

The sounds it creates are amazing to me. Even just a few years ago you couldnt get close to what they are creating now. Amazing.

And on top of that, with the GUI...
its FUN! using it.
