I think it's feedback...really don't know. Wear some headphones, that cures it.

Re: Hissing feedback when i plug guitar in PC?

is it hissing? or is it feedback?
2 different things.

Does it sound closer to air leaking? (bad s/n ratio)
or does it sound more musical like an actualy note you could play on a piano?

I would describe it as "Digital Fedback" and sounds like hissing.

its really bad hissing and feedback, when i plug in the guitar. its kinda crescendo-ish. it gets to the point where my speakers are about to blow. when i turn on the noise gate, its ok, but still sucks.

aha! it's your sound card. probly sucks. most stock one's do. mine does. your line in is gonna suck. no offense, but it is. just get a usb audio interface or a firewire one.

Re: Hissing feedback when i plug guitar in PC?

also..if he has the wrong things checked in his soundcard options,
like monitoring his line in. He could be getting the feedback from that.

And because its a cheapo soundcard the latency is just enough that
instead of traditional feedback.. it will sounds more like a delay effect
and start quiet and get louder.

If the wrong things are checked off, the loop might not even be caused
by the guitar but rather you created an electronic "loop" inside of the computer.

I know im not being clear, very little sleep

thats exacatly what happens. it goes from quiet to loud, and starts to echo and feedback at the same time.

an there is a lot of latency

Also watch your levels. Sounds like you could have some clipping happening. Each software package usually has a troubleshooting section that could be useful.
