How to get rid of Audio Drop out

I'm having problems with my Audio cutting out when I try and Record, i don't know what the problem is. I know its not my cables, and I've tried different guitars and cables and still getting it.

I'm using a firebox and my program right now is Cubase, I have the Fireboxes CPU usage to low and my Latency setting at 25.00 ms.

We need more details man. What OS are you running? If it's windows, are you using ASIO drivers? What services is your computer running? I could go on and on but, you need to give us more to chew on this one.

Vista is your main culprit. Turn off any unneeded services or simply create a separate hardware profile to use for recording only.

Are you using a lot of plugins? It could be your RAM over loading. Try to "bounce" some tracks out.

Re: How to get rid of Audio Drop out

If you're using Vista, perhaps try to use readyboost. Slim it down in any way you can too. Carefully turn off any programs you aren't using through the task manager, like IE, itunes, etc.

Don't waste space with unnecessary effects until it's about time to bounce them together. If a plugin has multiple channels, use them! It took me a long time to realize that!

And since it's a laptop, make sure it's plugged in and the power plan is on high performance rather than balanced or battery saver.
