how to record from my Pod Xt Live?

I have my laptop and a pod xt live.
I would like to record my guitar with these 2 things in order to improve my playing.

does anyone know how to do that please?? (need a specific software?)

The software can be had from the line6 website and it's called Riffworks. I have had alot of fun with it.

i thought it would be a good solution but a friend of mine discouraged me from using it arguing that there are to limited possibilities with it...

Riffworks 2 is pretty versatile and easy... What does he want you to use? You can pklug into other stuff if you have a pro studio with mixing board and everything, but if you are just playing at home then Riffworks is suffecient.
