Re: I have a good sound card so could I....
I'm assuming you would like to do some multi tracking. Get some software. There is free protools that might work for you, or N-track, or a few others. (other people may be able to recomend some good freeware) Then hook your guitar up to your soundcard using whatever kind of adapter plug you need to make the conection. Like 1/4" to 1/8" or whatever. You might want to try some effect pedals with it to get some distortion and whatnot. Keep in mind most pedals wont sound amazing direct into your soundcard, but if you get into recording you could pick up something like a Line6 POD of Behringer V-amp to give you some nice amp models and effects.
Another option is to use a microphone and your guitar amp, but then you'll want a mixer or mic preamp. plus you'll need a quiet enviroment with a mic. I would suggest going direct to start. It's a little easier IMO.
