Interfaces for the computer

I have no clue about these until I saw a Line6 interface USB port. Not really interested in the Line6's (although they are good for what they are) but I'm looking for a much more simpler interface as I don't plan on using the interface's "preamp" + "efx" as I intend on just plugging the guitar straight or even through my preamp and use its recording outs, and/or even a practice amp's headphone out.
Which interfaces are really good for the buck? I don't need more than 2 channels since it's for recording guitar tracks on the fly nor do I intend on spending a couple hundred on a 1/4" input jack to USB interface but I'll dish out a few more bucks if it runs on Firewire.

Look at the M Box stuff from Digidesign - cheap, and runs ProTools LE.

check steinberg system 2 and 4... with cubase.. very easy to operate, great options and quite cheap....

I have the M-Audio Fasttrack USB. Very cheap and works flawlessly (no latency and decent quality of sound). No preamp though. More expensive the Presonus Firebox with preamp is really a very nive toy.
