Is there any way to see what my camera is recording, live, on the computer screen?
Hey guys, I have a Kodak M883:
http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...q-locale=en_US
And I was wonder if there is a way to see a video that I'm recording LIVE(or close to it) on my computer. I have an SD card and all but that wont get it live. What I want is for me to press record on the camera and then i want to see the video that im recording on the screen. How would i do that? Please take a lok at my camera's specs:

Thank you!

For that exact camera you need this to get a usable output.
http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...q-locale=en_US
^ 5.50 elsewhere
Then a convert like below to convert from analog to digital.
Here are a few I found:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815302002
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815100033
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815100112
That will allow you to get a live stream on your desktop. They you could record and manage it with various software I'm sure theres a nice open source one you could find.
EDIT: read your other post you could take the RCA outs from your BR and plug those into the converter or if they are in use convert the headphone outs to RCA and again plug them into the converter.

You can't get a live video stream or monitoring with that camera. your camera is a point and shoot and, while it does allow you to record video, you cannot monitor it live. If you want to record video, get a video camera instead.
