Hey there!
Once again I’m resorting to the wisdom of this forum
Finally band stopped playing regularly (18 months doing the local “bar gigs” promoting our last CD), and now we’re starting it all over again. Composing, arranging, etc.
Thing is, now tech prices have dropped enough to allow me to have a semi decent home-studio to lay draft tracks for our next CD. (Please keep in mind that we’re a South American band, all of us with day-jobs, etc.etc.).
So I’ve stumbled upon Lexicon’s Alpha and Lambda.
First one the cheaper ($99), only one XLR input

Lambda one step ahead ($149) 2 XLR inputs.

Both come with Cubase LE.
Any comments on those? Any other suggestions for another decent interface ?
Plus I’d like to know what sequencing software do you use. I’ve been experimenting with
Fruity Loops 5 (FL Studio 5), and the results are quite interesting . I can even make whole drum parts with it. But I really don’t know if there are any more options.
I’d like to use some sampling, FX and weird noises for our next CD, if you know what I mean . Kinda Dream Theater's La Brie’s “Elements of Persuasion” stuff.
Plus, all scrap songs/sketches that finally band doesn’t use, I could recycle and use for a entirely home-made solo project
So, as always, any suggestions and comments are more than welcomed.
Thanks in advance!
