Monitor questions
Hey guys I need some input. I am totally new to studio building. I am buying a Fostex VF160. I want some good monitors that have flat and contour control. The Carvin SRS 65 A, seems to fit the bill. The Carvin only has an XLR input, the Fostex has 1/4" ( unbalanced ) monitor output. I am thinking about buying a 1/4' to XLR ( male ) cable, 6 foot long. Is this going to be totally noisy and not worth a dang?
Also I see there is a remedy to this balanced/unbalanced issue via the use of a Direct box converter.
Any suggestions?
