They're not dedicated recording monitors, but they're fairly clear, and excellent quality speakers- I've been using a set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's to mix on for quite some time, that I've been quite impressed with. Tuneable subwoofer, so you don't have get that super-deep bass you usually see in most personal computer speakers, thanks to the rap crowd.
Plenty of low end if you want it, but you can balance it pretty evenly. Bst part? i grabbed a pair of factory seconds direct for like $99.
