need help hooking up studio gear

i just bought some studio gear for my room, im having some problems setting it up, i know i hook my monitors to my mixing board with the RCA cables. but what do i hook to my computers sound card? dont i hook my monitors to my computer too? how will i get play back ? thanks im confused as hell.

You can hook the mixer up to the soundcard's input, then the soundcars output to the speakers. Or, the soundcard output to 2 channels of the mixer (or a tape return). There are a few ways to do it, so it kinda depends on your specific workflow.
