need tips on recording vocals....

I need to record some vocals, and I want em to sound decent. I have limited equipment. Got an AKG D 3700 mic, a Roland VS-880ex and a POD 2.0. I read somewhere that the pod was ok to record vocals thought. Anyone got any tips for me? Is there something that would be better, and affordable I could buy to run the mic through?
Need help...urgently...

Thanx

Kim

What's wrong with the pre's on the VS-880EX? They should be OK to record vocals. If your problem is distortion , then use a built-in compressor (which I am sure the 880 has).

Why do you want to add the pod in the chain for? Keep it simple.

Compression is key, as mentioned earlier. Some folks will also use a harmonizer to make the track a little more "full", as well. Not for doubling or anything that extreme, just a little extra umph, that's all.
