New Guitar Tracks Pro 3 vs. Reason

I have little to no experience of recording, and I was wondering which bit of software would be better to go for - The new version of Cakewalks Guitar Tracks, which looks pretty good, or Reason which I gather is not too bad
The things I need to do are: record guitar, record vocals and I need to put drum loops/samples in there too. It also needs to sound pretty good.

You cannot record audio directly into Reason, so you may be better with the Cakewalk. An alternative would be Cubasis or similar 'budget' sequencer.

Thanks very much, I probably will go for Cakewalks offering. Am I good to go with a Pod Xt and my PC, without spending more money on a fancy Soundcard?

I wish they would add a virtual multitracker as one of the rack modules, then Reason would be complete, and I wouldn't have to use any other apps.

That would kick major ass.
