Possible to convert midi drums to work in ezdrummer?

I'm looking for some kind of way to convert standard midi files/songs so that their drumtrack can appear in ezdrummer, keep the same timing ect but use ezdrummer for the drum sounds instead of midi.

So i could take any midi file, use it's drumtrack in ezdrummer and then have a realistic drum track to jam along to, without having to write up the whole thing from scratch for ezdrummer.

Anyone know of a way to do this?
(i'm using ezdrummer with flstudio btw)

Thanks.

well i use guitar pro then export the file as midi that way i know the bpm of the track then load the midi file in cakewalk and assign the drums to ezdrummer

so you should be ble to just load the midi file into your daw and use ezdrummer as a soft synth and set it to play the midi drum track

EZ drummer is not completely GM compatible. Some sounds will be different therefore. I don't think there is a cheap way around this, except clicking and dragging the notes to their proper instruments.

I use EZdrummer a lot.

Re: Possible to convert midi drums to work in ezdrummer?

I run Protools LE (003) and a Roland TD10 kit. The TD10 will play the ezdrummer sounds with no extra work needed. The only thing I can't figure is how to choke a cymbal(works on the stock TD10 sounds but not on the ezdrummer sounds). Sure opens up a new array of sounds as the Roland samples sound pretty lame next to the new stuff. The other thing to remember is the number of toms. On my Roland kit, I have 4 toms so if I call up an ez kit with 3 toms, my 2 floor tom pads play the same sound. If I call up the ez kit with 5 toms, I get the f1rst 4. I could likely remap to choose which 4 but so far it has not been an issue.
