Pro Tools 8 - Help Needed!!!

I am trying to connect my midi keyboard to pro tools 8 via a 003 rack but I can not get any signal through to the software. The light on the 003 rack is saying that it is receiving a signal but the software isn't. I have tried everything I can think of but I am getting nowhere.
Please help.
I am running on Windows Vista.

Check if midi thru is enabled.
Or at the top of mixwindow you can choose midi inputs

Re: Pro Tools 8 - Help Needed!!!

Maybe its how you are approaching this. Assuming you are running a midi cable from the midi OUT of the keyboard, to the midi IN of the 003; create a stereo instrument track(in Pro Tools) and insert a virtual instrument(like mini-grand or DB-33) and try playing the keyboard. Check that midi thru is checked (one of the drop down menu's in PT). It works fine for me with both a Yamaha Motif(midi into the 003) and an Ensoniq keyboard coming in via the midi ports on a Presonus Firestudio.
