really need some help on budget recording

Oky guys, there's probably been a million threads on this but given that new products come out and prices change all the time, it's probably best to get a 'new' opinion on this.
Basically, I have a good PC, some guitars (obviously), a Marshall DFX100 amp, Cakewalks Guitar Tracks Pro, and Cubasis. I am thinking I probably need a multi-effects processor and a microphone, but I don't have alot to spend, maybe about £150 (or around $300). What can I get to start recording?
The style of music will probably be acoustic rock-hard rock.
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I've spied a really cheap Behringer V-Amp on the bay, they any good?

Re: really need some help on budget recording

There's tons of multi-fx processors out there. Best to read a bunch of reviews or go play around with some if you have access to them at a music store. I had a ZOOM-505 years ago (cheap as hell!) that sounded GREAT direct into my multitrack.

The Shure SM57 is a great (inexpensive) all-around mic for guitar and vocals, get a foam windscreen for it when used with vocals. But there's plenty in the mic department too. I've just found the 57 to be the "workhorse" kind of mic. Built like a tank and versatile.

Upgrade from cubasis to cubase LE, forget the signal prosser, get amplitube II. that way you dont print your effects to the hard drive and what you do is totaly editable, even the guitar tone. The SM 57 is an awsome dynamic mic, for recording acustic you probably will want a small diaphram condenser, Rode makes good ones that won't break the bank.
