Recording Intreface

I need a Recording Analog To Digital Interface here! What I need from it is 2 RCA ins(coming from the P.A.), and a Firewire out. It has to be Mac compatble. 1 mic in would be nice, but I don't need it, and I don't need a guitar in. I need 2 midi ins, too (one for bass amp, one for keyboards). It doesn't need to be like, the best out there, and with all the level output controls and stuff (i can sort that out from the P.A)

Are you sure you mean midi ins? Midi doesn't have any audio its just a series of key on/off/velocity and control commands.

What do you mean exactly?

Google Apogee Ensemble, depends on your budget. Motu do great ones, too.

Re: Recording Intreface

M-Audio Profire 610. It works excellent with my Mac and Logic Studio setup. There is a version that is $200 less expensive that would probably do the trick. The 610 is a little overkill really for what I need.

Re: Recording Intreface

If you want only 2 channels (with preamps included) the Apogee Duet is a perfect choice for the Mac.

http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/duet.php

Around 500 dollars USD.

RME, MOTU, PreSonus all have versions as well but some lack the support Apogee has for Macs.

The second option would be a metric halo unit (bit costly, but amazing). http://www.mhlabs.com/metric_halo/ . The ULN-2 is a fine piece of machine http://www.mhsecure.com/v5mm/ULN2_2dExpanded.html but that is a nice bit more than the duet.

The last route would be to get a high end convector (ie Lynx Aurora, Apogee Rosetta, Lavry, Burl, Prism etc) and choose your preamp (API, Neve, Grace, PreSonus, Focusrite, ART, etc). Which is the ultimate in customization, but the most expensive route listed.
