Recording my Vox AD15 Question....

Hi -
I want to try my hand at recording on my laptop.
So I have a Vox AD15. Can i just connect this to my laptop using a GarageBand Guitar Cable?
Also what else would i need? I know i can download audacity for free to use.
Would this be enough just to get my ideas onto my laptop?

thanks in advance

Re: Recording my Vox AD15 Question....

Hi all -

Forget about it...I figured a simple way using what I have.
I just record myself playing with my mp3 player (Creative N200) using its voice recorder and then transfer it to my laptop. I use audacity (for free) to clean it up and convert it to mp3 format (the mp3 player saves as wav).

Sounds good enough to get ideas down.

Re: Recording my Vox AD15 Question....

Hi again -

Here is a little clip of my efforts to see if this would work.

Let me know what you all think. (the playing isn't the greatest as it was freezing in my basement last night...just wanted to see if it would work).

thanks

jeff

Sounds good for using your mp3 player. I have a Vox AD50VT, and it's loud.

Re: Recording my Vox AD15 Question....

Thanks bonehead -
I was thinking all day of buying the correct cables and what to connect my amp to my PC and if the soundcard on my PC would be sufficient and what to do if it wasn't........etc......basically going crazy.
Then i saw my mp3 player and said what the heck, let's try this.
Good enough for me.
Just need to remember to lower the TV when practicing next time.
