Recording suggestions?

Hello all,

I recently aquired version 5.0 of Guitar Pro from my friend, its pretty cool software, but I'm still learning a lot of it because I haven't played with this kind of program before.

Anyway, I've written out a song I made, but would like to play it out, since letting the "Realistic Sound Engine" have a go at it doesn't sound right to me. Apparently the program has an option to import MIDI information, but I've never done this before. My questions are:

How would I record my track for the two guitar parts and layer them using Guitar pro? Is this possible? Would I use the Record/Out line from my amp? What would the setup look like?

Are there drum tracks built into guitar pro that I can use? It doesn't have to be fancy, just something to stick with the melody. Would I have to get an entirely separate program to layer the tracks after I create the music with Guitar Pro?

Thanks in advance for any help, I really want to get to recording some ideas

Re: Recording suggestions?

Just download a song and copy the drums if you dont want to make them yourself, youll have to get a recording program to record it. Go to export then midi and then import that into audacity or something.

Re: Recording suggestions?

So Audacity can separate tracks? Is there a site where you can just get a bunch of drum loops to use with these programs instead?
