To get the sound of the V-AMP into you computer you're going to need a new sound card.

Erm, not really. You can take a line out from the vamp straight into the line in (or mic in if you need some more gain) on your PC.
The soundcard has a 3.5mm stereo input, whereas the vamp has left and right 1/4" outputs, so if you want a stereo signal you need a means of combining the two outputs and feeding them to a stereo 3.5mm jack.
I have my v-amps two outputs going to two channels on a mixing desk, then the tape sends from the desk go into the stereo in on my soundcard.
I usually patch things together using phono connectors; I have a twin phono -> stereo 3.5mm jack adapter which goes into my PC - you could do the same but you'll also need two phono -> 1/4" jack adapters to go at the v-amp end.
