Saffire PRO40 and Adrenalinn III
Hi folks,
I have a Saffire PRO40 firewire soundcard which I'm trying to get working with a Roger Linn Adrenalinn III in an insert loop with mixed results. I'm a bit of a newbie at this stuff so please bear with me.
If I connect the AIII inline (Guitar->AIII->Saffire) the AIII's drums and beat-synch effects work ok through the Saffire and my speakers, although I'm hearing a slight metallic tonality to both which I never noticed before when using a guitar amp for the AIII.
If I connect as an insert effect (Guitar->Saffire> AIII->Saffire) with the guitar mapped to the AIII I get drums and only effects using hi gain patches. Those with lower gain are almost inaudible. I notice in this configuration the AIII's input clip light never comes on, even with the input level maxed which doesn't behave like this when just a regular guitar is plugged in.
In terms of the Saffire routing, input 1 is the guitar, input 2 is the AIII's mono output and output 3 goes to the AIII's input. I think its something I'm doing wrong with the send level from the Saffire to the AIII input but I can't work out what as the Saffire has no output level controls other than for the mix.
