Software Drum Machine?

Hiya,
anybody know of a really good drum machine program? Basically, I want to make entire songs while on the road, while using my laptop. Reason is good, but I am looking for something more specific and more flexible. Also, preset beats, just for demo purposes would be cool. Basically I am looking for something like an old Roland R8 in a computer, only better. Any ideas at all?
Thanks!

Either Battery or DR-008.

I think NS9 here on Jemsite prefers the DR008, if I remember correctly. Easier to use, and cheaper. Since it uses samples, it would sound just as good.

I hear the Drum Kit from Hell is a really good sample set. [/url]

www.fruityloops.com

Fruityloops is great because you can import samples of any length. I actually import final mixes into it for mastering through VST plugins. I've used it for drum parts, bass, keys, orchestral-sounding film soundtracks, dance music, radio station IDs and film atmos sound.

Without a doubt, you have to get Drumkit From Hell 2.
The realism is astounding! Email me & I'll send you a sound click, if you can't find any.

I personally think PC drummer is great - very cheap, standalone, and works surprisingly well.

If you already have Reason, the ReDrum module is great for quickly putting together patterns. If you do not have Reason, I would recommend Leaf Drums.
