Sonar, Cubase, Pro Tools? This is doing my head in!

I originally set out to buy a TonePort. After much research I have concluded that this is not the best setup for me. I have decieded that I will go for either a EDIROL UA-101/Sonar,Cubase setup or a Pro Tools Mbox 2 setup. Which is better and what are the benefits of the systems. Salesmen are doing my head in to the point of me becoming part female (ie indecisive) sorry ladies but it's true!

Any help would be highly regarded. (I like being a man!)

both sets of software are great. i personally use sonar 5 pe with 3 delta 1010lt cards(24 tracks of analog audio). so i will be sonar biased. now i have used pro tools and did like it. i am just more fluent in sonar. i am not as big of a cubase fan, as i found it a bit more convoluted than sonar.
out of curiousity, what didn't you like about the toneport?

I felt that it would be to simplistic for later on and at some point I would like to record drums.

Definetly ProTools. Its professional quality software with great expandability. The plug ins are great as budget increases so can the hardware for it. The other software programs are decent but they are semi pro quality. Cubase is just a watered down version of Nuendo which is the professional quality stuff. I know im a PT snob but its the best and its in every professional studios ive ever been in. Do the Mbox.

Thanks guys. I think the Mbox it is, just through what I jhope will be essentially a plug and play device. Should I get the factory bundle pack?

Yes get all the plug ins you can afford. The Waves platinum bundle should be your goal. Those plugins are awesome. If you want send me a PM I'll send you a link to book that an engineer friend of mine wrote. Its a PT guide.

I have gone with the MBox2 system and thus far I am very happy with the sound results and ease of use. Problems so far are in relation to the buffer settings. This is everything I hoped for - I say again 'thus far'.
