Anyway, i was just wondering which one of these would be best for recording? i know they're both pap but just wondered what the benefits of each one is?

64 will be better all around. Not very good by today's standards. but better than the 16.

Agreed.

Does your AWE 64 have the gold plated jacks? And does it have the
RCA Jacks on the back?

That's a really good one, even though it is VERY outdated, it's still a very
good card. I still have one around here somewhere. It was one of my first
"semi-pro" grade sound card.

Yup I too have a 62 gold AWE around here somewhere. Nic cards. I went from that to a SoundBlaster Live then from that to a Lexicon Core II and from that to a TerraTec EWS88D Digital Audio Soundcard (best soundcard I have ever owned). I am sure this will not be my last but it works for now. Enjoy the 64 AWE!!

Yeah, I currently use Sound Blaster Live! in all my computers with the
exception of my *Show* system which has a SB Live Platinum, and
my recording computer which is using a Seasound Solo.

I'm sorry to say, Seasound went out of business. It is honestly one of the
best Sound Cards I've ever heard. And the Microphone preamp on it
is amaizingly clear and present!

I have the M-Audio Delta 44. It's a great little breakout box, and with cakewalk I can use it as an input and use my regular soundcard for the out/playback. Works very well.
