I remember once recording I mixed using my old headset, it was one of them over-bass set, so I mixed most of the bass frequencies out.
It ended up as a poor decision, because the whole recording was so fragile and mid/treble.
I will advise against using a 'regular' headphones for mixing. Always choose something with a rather natural EQ.
And yes, it will sound different once you use a different system because most speakers will boost/cut certain frequencies, that's why monitors are different than regular speakers.
