Tascam US 122

So is this unit any good??

I'm looking for something really easy and simple (and cheap) for home recording with a pc...

Any of you guys and gals have experience with this unit?

Or maybe you can recommend some other ones in the same price league?

Thanks!

Re: Tascam US 122

What are you going to be recording? I use it. Works really well. The only problem I have and I don't know if it's because of the TASCAM or Windows XP, but I have some kind of USB conflict going on somewhere and occassionally I get a blue screen of death. Otherwise, it's a great unit. I don't use any of the included software. If you're on a cheap, you might want to look at the Line 6 units. I'd recommend the higher end unit as it offers stereo inputs.

Re: Tascam US 122

Thanks for your input mate

I will mainly be using it recording guitars, bass and maybe vocals.
As for the higher end unit, you mean the US 144?

Well, yeah, you could go with the 144, but I was refering to the toneport from Line 6 like the other guys mentioned. Specifically, the UX2, because like the US 122, it features phantom power and stereo input as well as some other features.

Yeah I bought it from the guy at the store who's a keyboardist and a studio recording expert, he demo it with his keyboard using all the guitar effects in gearbox and doing some small demo using ableton live, and man does the keyboard sound really cool with the wah wah
