The right headphones for me?

Alright. So I'm looking to buy a pair of headphones that will both block out sound from the outside, but also keep sound in.
In other words, I need a pair of headphones that will allow me to be recording in front of my amp (I only have my 9x10 room, so it's hard to escape)at the necessary volume, but block out enough sound for me to hear the music and click track in my headphones.
I'm also hoping they can stop the click track and music from bleeding into my condenser mics when I'm recording my acoustic or vocals.
Naturally, the more affordable the better, as money is tight, but music is important to me. At the same time, I don't want to go cheap and sacrifice quality or sound quality.

So I hope you guys can help me out Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

^ Your best bet. If you don't feel like spending that much, the HD205 will also work well, but with slightly less sound quality and they leak a little bit more.

Re: The right headphones for me?

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Andy, I'll probably spend the extra to avoid the leakage. I recorded a Christmas cover a while back with my crappy Sony headphones, and can hear the clicktrack in the background. It drives me insane when I listen to it now

I'll start doing some research on these. In the meantime, more suggestions are appreciated

Re: The right headphones for me?

If you're going to buy sennheisers, PLEASE listen to them if you can. Both my CX300s and my HD435s were laughably overpowered in the bass and the treble respose was so ****ty it was like listening through a pillow. THe bass wasnt even tuneful it was just mushy. I'd say for pure sound quality, Grado SR60s are my favourites on a reasonable budget, but sadly they're an open backed design.

Try asking around the shops for a closed back alternative to SR60's and see what you get.

Re: The right headphones for me?

A friend of mine recommended some Sony MDR-7506's to me. Any thoughts on those?

He also recommended a pair of Beyer dt 770's and Audio-Technica ATH-M50's, but those are definitely a little pricier than I want to go.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50 rocks big time, especially for its price. Outperforms headphones much pricier than it, at least for me it does. Sony MDR-7506s sound like garbage next to it.

Re: The right headphones for me?

If it's just for avoiding click bleed, a pair of cheap rubbery earbuds works for me. I've also experimented with experimenting EQing the click track to where it is very thin but still audible and it works kinda well if you have no other option.

Re: The right headphones for me?

The Sony 7506's sit ON your ear and not over it, so they are not a good choice. The Sony VR600 is a solid choice(I have 5 sets) and the Sennheiser 280's are also good(my neighbor studio has those and I find them comparable). I got Sony's off the bay for $77 delivered(NIB). I hear the new Shure headphones are excellent, but they are more money.
