triaxis into laptop?

i've been talking to a couple of guys that both have a mesa triaxis, one of them runs it through a pod xt pro and into his pc to smoothen out the tone, i'm just wondering what i could use instead of a pod xt pro to make the tone less harsh going into my laptop? one of the guys mentioned an EQ pedal, what do you guys think? cheers

PODxt (bean), PODxt Live, GuitarPort are three other options that would all do the same thing the Pro does. I have run my TriAxis into my PODxt bean and gotten good results just using the bean for cab sim. You could also look into Palmer speaker sims.
