Tuning Bends during live Studio Rehearsal

Hello everyone,

I'd be thankful if anyone knows the answer to my problem...

I'm in a band (lead guitar) that plays Instrumental oriented music (think Satriani-Gilbert stuff)...everything is ok until I have to execute a note-bend on the guitar...I have trouble listening to the frequencies that help me tune my Bends while playing...especially on the G-B-E strings...

I thought that this happened due to Volume level but whatever volume we play at I still have the same problem...

Is this something common during live rehearsals?Does it have to do with where I stand in the studio OR the lack of monitors?

This is the layout of Drums and Bass/Guitar Amps:

Facing towards the Drummer:
-Drums in the Center
-Bass Guitar on the Upper Left corner
-Lead guitar on the Low Left Corner
-Rythm guitar on the low right corner

Thank you in advance

Re: Tuning Bends during live Studio Rehearsal

get a compressor for the loop of your amp, will help to keep the levels more consistent and will aid in sustaining these notes so you can hear them better. get your own dedicated monitor or headphones/in ears.
also, it sounds like you guys rehearse way too loud. get some acoustic treatments in your room, some bass trapping and broadband absorption will make it easier to be in the same room with the rest of the band. this in turn will allow you to reduce the volume and still be able to hear every part.

i can't really get what youre asking. Do you mean that you can't hear if you hit the right pitch when you bend a string? like, you can't hear (can't differentitae one from the other) if it's a full-step bend, of 1 and 1/2 step bend? if I understand it correctly - do you use a lot of effects? like a ton of delay and chorus?
