VST Synths

I'm looking for some recommendations on VST synth software that I can use with Cubase. At the moment I'm using Kontakt 2 which is great for reproducing organic instrument noises like classical instruments, and I've got EZDrummer with the drumkit from hell EZX for drums.

I'm looking for some software that has good synth lead sounds like 'square' or 'saw' that I can use for replicating keyboard solos à la Stratovarius or Sonata Arctica. Also, some nice choir sounds that kontakt lacks would be good too.

I have a little M-audio Oxygen midi keyboard, but I'm not much of a pianist... so really I'm looking to be inputting the midi, tidying it up and playing it back through the VST.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

I use LinPlug's Albino 3. I don't know if it's any good for specificaly what you are looking for but its definetly a great sounding synth which won't drain too much CPU power from your PC. Try it out!

Re: VST Synths

Thanks for the suggestions guys, they both look promising.

I'm also considering Propellerheads Reason.. there's a Triton refill for it, which has the sounds the majority of my favourite keyboard players use.

I'll let you know which I choose and maybe post up some samples of my work with it.

Until then, more suggestions are welcome!

Re: VST Synths

Well, I went for Reason 4 and I'm very happy with it, especially with the Triton refill.

Here's a little sample:
