What do you think about the Boss BR-600?

Hey guys, I'm planning on getting on of these soon. What do you think of them? Are the drums pretty good? How is the recording quality? Also how easy is the looping? Thanks!

I didn't have a BR-600 but I did have an 1180. The recording quality was excellent I thought. A lot of that has to do with the equipment your using in unison with the recorder though. I used an older effects unit once and hissing came through from it. I record everything direct as well. My newer effects unit (GT-6) came through crystal clear. I did sell my 1180 though, because I am switching over to computer based software. That really, is the way to go.

My advice depends on how you are recording or using the drum machine. Boss/Roland has always done a good job on sounds but there are a lot better sounding options. If you are recording into a computer, I would give ezdrummer a look. For standalone operation, its hard to beat those drum machines but the sounds from ezdrummer and the other similar stuff is light years ahead of any drummer in a box.
