Whats the different between the DAW?

i m currently nuendo user and have been doing home recording stuff for almost 1 year... but i m still learning
i m just curious that what is the differences between those DAW like Sonar, Cubase, Nuendo compare to Protools?
will the protools provide better sound quality compared to them? Cause mostly i saw those pro-recording engineer is sticking to protools...

so mayb i m planning to upgrade my stuff to protools based.. hehe

Re: Whats the different between the DAW?

I doubt you will hear any difference in sound between any of the players. They are all capable of good sound that is dependant on the engineer's skill and the quality of the interface(mic pre's and converters). The differences are in the GUI and its more a question of how you like to work. Unfortunately you really have to try each and find the one that suits you. I chose protools simply because of its universal appeal.

Nowadays there are differences here and there, but once you get used with one of them, you can do everything.
Just choose the one you like more.
I'm currently using Sony Acid 6.

Pro Tools is only the studio industry standard so almost everyone is sticking with it but that's slowly changing. It's not going to give you better sound or anything. Just use what you are more comfortable with.

I use Logic and Live.
