Which drum software?

I've done a little research and have narrowed it down between Addictive drums and Superior 2.0 or DFHS. I'm using a Mac with Logic. Which do you guys prefer?

Superior 2.0. I like the sound, the library is massive and you can combine it with all the ezdrummer expansion kits. The microphone configuration can get you great natural reverb and you can tweak every channel the way you want to. I suppose Addictive can do that too, but I went for superior because I absolutely loved ezdrummer. The midi files are awesome too and you can get many creative ideas.

Re: Which drum software?

Would like others take on Steven Slate. I just picked up Addictive Drums, demoed it for a while and got some great sounding tracks after some tweaking of presets, really like the new beat features in v1.5

+1 to Superior Drummer 2.0
I've got a drummer friend who uses that on a lot of his tracks now since he doesn't have the means or space to record on his set.

I use XLN Addictive Drums

It seems to have a more natural tone to it rather than EZ Drummer, But i'm still working with making my own preset

Re: Which drum software?

I have Steve Slates software bought it last year.
I met him a couple of times he was from Boston and moved to L.A. we have some mutual friends.

His drum sounds are really good. He uses NI kontact player engine so you can use it as a VST or RTAS. Both LE and Platinum versions come also with gog files so if you also have drumagog you can replace your drums with his samples. He recently issued an update which when I bought it I was using kontact player 2 and its pretty heavy on the CPU.
I believe his new updates are better with the CPU usage along with more parameter tweaks. If you want that modern drum sound its there with amazing quality.

Now if you use EZdrummer and love that midi interface window and be able to audtion grooves on the fly along with that drag and drop feature. Slate falls short there. You have to import a midi file then audition it, to is very time consuming. Using EZdrummer with easy audtioning capabilities and that killer drag drop feature really spoils you.

I have both software and I recently got the Nashvile expansion for EZ hehe which blends nicely with Slates. The mapping is very close you may have to do some minimal editting. I usually let EZ handle everything and then mix in Slates kicks, snares and toms so its sounds massive. I tend to mix 2 snare and kicks at once anyway. So drag your midi files into EZ tracks and just copy and paste them into the midi track with Slates. Make your minor corrections and your done... you are on your own with mixing...

I highly recommend Slates software the sounds are so good.

Re: Which drum software?

I have SD2.0 and Addictive Drums.
I myself find Addictive Drums to be easier for me to work eith, since I am styill learning how to process and mix drums. For me being a noob SD2.0 is a bit overwhelming, but it sounds awesome!

Re: Which drum software?

I use Superior Drummer 2.2.1 with Alesis DM10 e-kit. I love the sounds and how you can produce them too although it can be complex. Out of the box it was not easy to use as its an upgrade program from EasyDrummer and SD1. So some of the paths were hard to understand due to it selecting paths that I had no samples for.
I since got Metal Foundary and this is a good combo for guitar music - pity you can't mix both for your own custom kits.
There are still BUGS like the Solo not remembering window positions. And then programming the Surge Cymbols to Choke only works on the right cymbol correctly. I told them politely on their forum and they ban my account!

Are you using software (Pro Tools , Sonar and etc.) or external recording device?
