Which instrument to record first?

haha so tru on the cowbell,i got the cowbell in the school band for precussion 2 and i laughed so hard.I was like COWBELL!!! Hellyeah!!

I read an interesting interview with Paul Gilbert - he records drums LAST on all his stuff.

How I've always heard of it being done, is that the guitars or other instruments play 'live' but are not recorded, so the drummer can play along with the other parts and be recorded! That makes the most sense to me.

Definitely record the cow bell first and then use that as the click track
