1570 and Evos

I am thinking of getting new pickups for my 2003 1570, one of the sets i have been thinking of getting are Evos, but i have read on here that there may be problems fitting them due to them being taller. Has anyone here had any problems fitting them to a 1570?

I don't think there should be a problem fitting them? People here usually don't like basswood and Evo's but I like my evo bridge in my 2570

Yeah I could see this being an issue. The Evo I put in is mounted low as it can go and is ok, but just barely. I've heard some on here say they had to dremel the area where the pickup ears sit in order to get some more clearance. Mine is a 2002 model.

Re: 1570 and Evos

I had problems with mine, the evo was too tall for the routing, but my guitar was a 08 model. I'm not sure but I think the 03 is different, many people installed evos on 1570 without any problem..

By the way I dind't like very much the evo bridge on my guitar..

Re: 1570 and Evos

I had problems with mine. They required the pickup cavities to be routed to get string clearance if you wanted to use the Evos. But others have put them in their 1570s with no problem. I'm not sure why some work and some do not, but I can tell you for a fact that some 1570s will have problems with the clearance. (And, I have been doing my own setups for years so I can promise it’s not a “user error” thing!)
