3-position switch, 2 hum. wiring.

I have an older Ibanez RG with 2 humbuckers. no single coil. I know, that's an odd one. It has a 3-way switch, not the les paul type toggle. the guy that owned it before me had it all screwed up.
Right now it's like this.
pos. 1- bridge
pos. 2-bridge
pos. 3-neck.

i can't figure out how to get it to combine both pickups in the middle pos.

the switch has 8 soldering places. 4 on each side of the switch.

can anyone help me to figure this out?
thanks.

You could switch to a 5way switch and follow some of the RG 520 wire schemes on Ibanez.com

would i need a special 5-way switch? i see that there are 5 way switches designed for 2 pickups and some designed for 3. i have a 5-way from H/S/H RG550. do you know if i can use that?

If you know how to wire it, you could make it work. otherwise just pick up a 3PS1SC5 5way switch for H/H.
