3-way switch: bridge/OFF/neck

Hi,

I'd like to wire a Fender 3-way blade switch such that the three positions are bridge only, OFF, neck only. Can anyone advise me on how to wire this?

The wiring diagrams I've seen are all bridge/bridge and neck/neck--I want the middle position to be off.

thanks.

Re: 3-way switch: bridge/OFF/neck

Using a Fender CRL switch, if you JUST want bridge, nothing, neck, just wire up ONE side of the swithing like this with the 4 lugs

lug 1: Neck
lug 2: nothing
lug 3, bridge
lug 4: out to volume

That's it. It's simpler than you really thought it would be isn't it??

Hey, thanks. This is actually the switch I'm using:

It's the 4th one in the first row. Think your wiring scheme will work for this switch?

Thanks, and yeah...that does look pretty straightforward.

Oh yeah, is there some terminal in the switch that I need to ground? Just figured it has to be done somewhere...not that it matters but I'm using EMGs here.

Heh, when I opened up the switch and could actually see the contacts and what lugs the switch shorts together as it moves....you're right, it was pretty frickin' obvious. Thanks!

No problem. This was the simplest wiring question I've ever had to answer that didn't sound very simple at first.
