'77 Ibanez Les Paul wiring?.......


supposed to be wired up for independent volumes,only one volume works,tone controls don't work,neck pick-up has almost no volume at all....
any idea what could be wrong? caps fried?......

pots fried more likely.

wiring screwed up.

guitarelectronics.com has diagrams for this, along with a list of all the parts you need. Suggest you look it up and replace everything.

Well for the neck pickup volume, make sure the neck pickup isnt just really far away from the strings. But other than that....New electronics, or check your wiring.
But once you get that done.....

OK, so it's got all new pots,& wiring....works wonderfully now. except I think I wanna wire it for inside coils in middle switch position.Anyone know how?

don't think you can do that with a threeway les paul switch. You'll need possibly mini-switches or a push pull to cut the outer coils

yeah,i hate to drill holes in it for switches,& if i was gonna put push-pulls in it i might as well wire it up like a Jimmy Page...i actually found a 3 way multi-pole switch but it would look ridiculous as a Pick-up selector....

Well, with push-pull tone pots, you can cut the humbuckers to get single coil tones... LOL
