7VWH Pickup Problem

I just noticed the other day that when clean, something sounds odd with my Jem7VWH's bridge pickup. The guitar is bone stock, but the bridge pickup just doesn't sound like a bridge pickup when clean. It sounds almost as if the coils are in parallel instead of series. Is this normal?

I just picked up a 2001 model recently. It sounded a lot different than the 98 I used to own. Then I remembered in the 98,I changed pot values to 250k,rewired everything and changed the single coil to a FS-1.I guess it would sound different!I haven't checked the wiring on the new one,but I am not very happy with the sound,so time to make a few changes.I think my ears have changed from to many guitars with TZ's.Anybody try a tz in alder?

Just plugged in to see if mine sounded as you described,it doesn't.Mine sounds like a humbucker wired in series.

Hmmmmm... It doesn't even sound like a bridge position pickup with the mellow sound it's putting out. Maybe I'll pop it open in the morning and take a look

I assume you have the pickup height adjusted?
