A few Dimarzio related questions

Ok, I have a Dimarzio Air Zone and Air Norton on the way for my Ibanez SA320X.

The guitar has 2 humbuckers on a 5 way switch which has 8 contact points on it (I'm not sure of their official term).

The current wiring has them set up as follows:

Pos 1 - Bridge
Pos 2 - Inner singles
Pos 3 - Bridge and neck
Pos 4 - Neck parrallel
Pos 5 - Neck

Is it at all possible to wire the Dimarzios in with this setup or should I buy a multipole switch and just follow the schematics on their site?

Also does anybody know the thread length of the volume pots Ibanez use? I was hoping to swap my volume for one of Dimarzio's but I'm unsure if the 8mm stated will be enough for an Ibanez SA.

Any help or information is appreciated

Re: A few Dimarzio related questions

yes, you can wire up your dimarzios in the same way using that same switch.
i've done it several times in different ibanezes.

just figure out the color codes and follow the wiring schems from the ibanez website.

Well that's good to know, thanks.

Do you by any chance know what the two tabs are either side of the selector? They have wires soldered to them but they aren't shown in any schematics I've found.

Re: A few Dimarzio related questions

I believe they are used to attach wires to ground.
I posted the following on a another thread. I hope this helps:

"I just replaced my V7 & V8 with a FRED (neck) and Norton (Bridge) - it was all messed up because:
Ibanez -> Dimarzio
Red -> Red
Black -> Black
White -> Green
Green -> White

I compared two different wiring schematics with similar pickup selections. One used the Ibanez pickups (RGA 121H) and the other used Dimarzios (2007 RG2620E). Check it out at: http://www.ibanez.com/support/wiringdiagrams.aspx"
