Active Pickups
I'm planning on buying a set of active pickups for both of my rg's. Ive seen that
Seymour Duncan
Blackouts
are cheaper than EMG's, but never tried them. I'll have to get the blackouts for my RG7321 because the Phase 1 7-string humbuckers are a direct replacement for normal passive 7-string hums. But would you go with the Blackouts or are EMG's. Which sound better?

Re: Active Pickups
I personally love the Blackouts over the
EMG
's (and so do a lot of other people)
and like you said the Phase I design will directly replace your passive pickups with no routing.

Re: Active Pickups
One of my bandmates has one guitar with EMG's and another equipped with a set of blackouts, and I do have to say that the blackouts win by a mile.
