Ahhh, Virgins....

Yep, virgin pickups, arn't they a thing of beauty? All sealed up in there little polycarbonate coffins, just begging to be let loose to scream.

anyone else have any experience with this combo? I love Mike Romeo's tones so I figured, what the heck, why not, I'm kinda bored of Evos, Freds and Super Distortions.

Thumbs up

Re: Ahhh, Virgins....

Both of them are awesome I have them in a few of my guitars but IMHO they would not go together, they are too hot and both are used for the bridge position primarily but whatever rocks your boat mate! nice pups anyway

Well its the same combo that Mike uses in all his guitars for many years, and, well, we all know Symphony X kicks ass. Plus that little video that JimmyJ made a while ago about the tone zone in the neck kinda had me wanting to try it out.

its of course going in my Jem project as seen here:

Rob, if you would, let us know how that sounds, I may very well copy that combo for my little Jem project. Im a little bored with pickups also and looking for something unexpectedly spicy.

Re: Ahhh, Virgins....

The tz in the neck is pretty awesome.. you gotta get the hieght right though, otherwise it can get pretty muddy. (but then again, even in the bridge the TZ is very height sensitive). It's still one of the fattest sounding neck pickups I've ever had in my guitars.

I'm whipping up my review right now, I was going to post it here (thus why I'm posting here, whoops) but I'll make a new thread for it.
