am i installing this right?

I have an ibanez s470 and im just replacing the stock bridge with a tone zone
black+white green+bare red, I put the black+white together where the stock white is, the red on red, and the green+bare to ground. But theres a bit of buzz kinda like when i switch to the middle single coil, it happened before i thought there was a problem with the pickup so they replaced it for me and its doing it again. Is it normal? cause the stock (powersound i think) makes almost no noise, and i tried it on a 350dx and it still has some noise

Re: am i installing this right?

Sounds right to me, but in my experience, mysteries happen.

I just installed two humbuckers the other night in a H-S-H guitar.

Guess what? There was buzzing like crazy in the 2-3-4 positions. Obnoxious buzzing.

I haven't messed with it and guess what? The buzzing is gone. It's a true single in the middle, but the obnoxious buzzing magically dissappeared.

It is beyond me...

grounding is the key.. If you have a bad ground all sorts of bad noises are going to come out of that thing..

then polarity of the single comes into play.. Try reversing the polarity of the single coil.

reversing the polarity of the single is simple as taking the hot and ground and reversing them.

I would recheck your grounds before you get into that.. Did you blow on the solder joint? did you connect the ground to the rest of the grounds or somewhere else?

Have you used a soldering iron before?
