any international players?

Hi ther i am willing to get a laney amp, but in latin america we use 220 volts as the voltage standard. As in the USA the voltage is 110 i was wondering if an adaptator or transformer (if those are the correct words in english) might let the amp work properly.
pd: please if you know about this tell me also what kind of transformer or adapter i would need for the laney lc15r.
Thanks a lot iŽll wait for answers and if you are from a country that uses 220 v and have an imported amp please tell me how you didi with this.

You need a step up transformer.....

Most modern amps will support 110 and 220 volts by default as far as I know. American (branded) amps sold over here are 220 volts.

Find out from the person/store if the amp you're interested in will support 220 volts, and if not, if they can throw in the transformer.

Let's not forget that Laney amps are made in the UK. Mine is rated 240V on a sticker on the back but the fuse holder says 220 - 240 V. A uk amp might be ok for you without modification.
I hate to disagree with Imateur, but my amp is not switchble so you'd better check the model before you asume that it will be.

quite often the internal transformer in the amp can be rewired -by resoldering a single resistor- to accept voltages from 110 to 220, 240. It's usually a simple question of splitting the transformer coils.

Re: any international players?

here in mexico the standard voltage is the same as in america, I used to have a cell phone which was to be sold in Argentina but somehow it came to me lol, the charger was a standard 110V but came with a little adaptor which converted the little rectangular legs to connect it into the rounded ones, so i assume you could use one of those, they are like $5

No probs mate (if you meant me). Best bet will always be to ask the sellers to guarantee these things.
